Oakland, California
A New Thread in the
Tapestry of Downtown Oakland
Rising from the streets of Downtown Oakland, this was a new building that promised to set a luxurious new tone in a neighborhood known for gritty art, good food, and lively nightlife.
I named this building Atlas because it had a lot of pressure on its shoulders. Our concept for the brand incorporated interwoven elements, to communicate that this project was just a thread in a much larger, and very beautiful, picture.
I might be romanticizing this — I lived in Oakland for four years just a couple blocks from Atlas. Sue me for having a soft spot!
The work seen here was done at Allis Studio in San Francisco, CA with the very talented Matthew Connolly and Suzanne Pfutz.
