Kona Village

A Rosewood Resort

Along the sacred shores of Kahuwai Bay, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort is an iconic Big Island hideaway rooted in the legacy and moʻolelo (stories) of the native Hawaiians who came before.

Tasked with creating a brand story, website, printed materials, in-resort signature experiences, and more, this project was all about immersion—learning about Hawaiian culture, traditions, and language—and creating a narrative that bridged the timeless with the now.

The work shown below was completed with NYC/PDX/SFO powerhouse Allis Studio under the creative direction of Kile Brekke.

Reawaken What’s Sacred

Before Kona Village was a Rosewood Resort, it was an iconic 1950s hideaway; before that, it was an ancient Hawaiian fishing village. In creating a tagline for the new resort, I wanted to honor the site’s long and stored past while nodding to the recent reimagination of the land. “Reawaken What’s Sacred” is a rallying cry to reconnect with what matters most, whether that means deepening bonds with family or friends, or rekindling an innate connection to the natural world.
